Meet Dr. Stennett
From Jamaica! Meet Dr. Naima Stennett who received her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on a full volleyball scholarship while playing for Jamaica National Volleyball Team. She went on to earn her Master's degree at NCCU before entering into medical school. She earned her medical degree from East Carolina University, North Carolina 2017. Upon graduating she was awarded the North Carolina Minority Medical award.
She is currently finishing her Family Medicine residency at the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Recently, she was awarded the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine Resident scholarship. Her goal is to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine during which she will work with young athletes in the Caribbean, especially in underserved communities.
Dr. Stennett is a member of numerous organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Black Professional Network of Miami, American Medical Association and Student National Medical Association.
