Meet Micheline

After working for several years, Micheline decided to pursue a Master's degree in climate, land use, and ecosystem services in France at the Université de Paris-Saclay and AgroParisTech. She completed her internship with the French National Institute of Agricultural Research. Her research focused on how climate change impacts agriculture, specifically European wild fruit trees, using species distribution modelling.

Meet Naomi Smith

Volunteering at the island's animal welfare presented her with her first infectious disease case, a rare form of neurological, canine distemper. She became fascinated by diseases. However the idea of infectious diseases fell by the wayside when she moved to Atlanta, GA for a B.S. in Neuroscience at Agnes Scott College.

Meet Roodolph St. Pierre

He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry with honors from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2011. From there, Roodolph worked as a research technician at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Dr. James Bradner’s lab. He is currently a graduate student in the Chemical Biology Program at Harvard University finishing his doctorate studies under Dr. Cigall Kadoch.

Meet Leah Fouchong

Leah's passion and drive have provided her with the opportunity to participate in several conferences such as the URISA Caribbean Disaster Management Conference, Conference of Youth on Climate change, Peru and Ocean School Training in Costa Rica. She was also one of three national advisors to the Caribbean Youth Environmental Network (CYEN) and is a member of Trinidad and Tobago Eco Divers and Trinidad and Tobago Field Naturalists Clubs. Leah is truly passionate about environmental conservation work and is an avid advocate for the environment.

From Jamaica! Meet Dr. Naima Stennett​ who received her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) on a full volleyball scholarship while playing for Jamaica National Volleyball Team. She went on to earn her Master's degree at NCCU before entering into medical school. She earned her medical degree from East Carolina University, North Carolina 2017. Upon graduating she was awarded the North Carolina Minority Medical award.

Meet Taton David

From St Lucia! Meet Taton David! He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Physics at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus. Mr. David has enjoyed studying science, with Physics being his favorite, since the age of 10. Upon entering the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), he participated in the St. Lucia National Science Fair in 2015 with a project titled “Heat to Energy”. He was very successful as the project won him first place in every category he participated in, most notably receiving awards for “Best Overall Project” and “Best Innovation”.

Asha is driven by her belief that one of the best ways to solve global problems is to put technology into the hands of those who are directly affected. In 2016, Asha Co-founded STEMGuyana, a non-profit organization that teaches robotics, scratch programming, and app development to youth across the country of Guyana. STEMGuyana has over 60 locations and has recently been crowned the fastest growing STEM program in the Caribbean.
